This afternoon’s football matches resulted in a loss, a draw and a win against Park School. The Year Five boys played particularly well to win 7-2, as well as hitting the crossbar twice and the post once. Good sportsmanship was evident all round and the support on both sides was highly motivating!

Reading workshop
Some Year Six pupils took part in a carousel of reading challenges related to their class text ‘Friend or Foe’ by Michael Morpurgo. Pupils are considering character, plot, retrieval of information and analysis of language.
Sketches
Year 3 have been sketching fossils as part of their Dinosaurs topic. They focussed on technique when using pencil to draw, achieving variety in tone.
Curiosity
Today’s assembly was about curiosity – one of our character traits. Mrs Williams shared how Captain James Cook showed curiosity when setting sail around the world, as well as discussing our thought of the week:

Football matches
Yesterday evening QPA played against St Luke’s Primary at the David Lloyd centre. Our Year 6 team performed extremely well, Dylan scoring a hatrick and Reuben mastering the midfield, and the team achieved a 5-0 victory. The Year 4 team did not fair so well, losing 4-1, but showing great grit and inter-dependence throughout.
Pavilion choir performance
On Tuesday the choir sung impressively as part of the annual Bournemouth Schools Carol Concert. Well done to all those that participated and many thanks for the support from staff and parents.
Life Education Bus
Every class has joined the team from Life Education Wessex this week to learn and develop their understanding in areas such as friendship, healthy choices and self image.
Children In Need
We are supporting Children In Need today by selling Pudsey themed biscuits and donating £1 to wear mufti. The biscuits were made by the School Council in the cookery suite. Many thanks to Miss Sheard for her organisation of the event and to Mrs Powell for her cookery support!
