Sports Day

Congratulations to Windsor who won this year’s Sports Day. Hanover came a close second, with Steward and Tudor in equal bronze position. Well done to all of our pupils for their enthusiasm and grit on the day. Enjoy the medals!

Tomorrow’s World

Year 6 began their topic about the future with a Dragon’s Den inspired WOW day yesterday. The children were put into small groups and set the challenge of inventing and marketing a new product that would make a teacher’s life easier. They then had to pitch their idea to ‘The Dragons’. The winning group designed an app that would scan writing and identify spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors. Yes please!

GDPR

Many thanks to all of our Parents / Carers who have returned the form relating to GDPR updates. We are processing these forms but please be aware that we are not currently able to post pictures of pupils onto the blog until all administration has been completed.

Ancient Greece

The Year 4 WOW day for the ‘Gods and Mortals’ topic went very well on Monday with the children being immersed into the world of the Ancient Greeks. Some amazing costumes were on show, both from the adults and the children!

Hola Mexico!

Year 5 held their WOW day today for their ‘Hola Mexico!’ topic. As well as a Latin American inspired ‘Mathsico’ session, the pupils created their own decorative skull, in keeping with the ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations, and sampled a range of Mexican food. Many thanks to Mrs Powell for her hard work in preparing the feast of enchiladas, tortillas, salsa, guacamole and churros.

Town Sports Success

This afternoon we were fortunate to have considerable success at the annual Town Sports event at King’s Park stadium. The children took part in a variety of events which included 60m, 75m, 150m, 600m, long jump and ball throw.

We were incredibly proud of each and every one of our children, who were a real credit to our academy. Of particular note were the successes of Ellie, who achieved a gold medal for the 600m event, and Frankie, who achieved a third place time in the 75m. This achievement means that these two children are now eligible for county events.
