This week we are supporting World Homeless Day in partnership with Bournemouth YMCA. Our school council agreed to support the event and decided to hold a mufti day this Friday, 12th October, in return for a £1 donation. There will also be a cake sale with cakes selling for 50p. All donations will be passed onto the YMCA who had great success last year in supporting homeless people within our area.
Year 6 represented the school with pride during the ‘Predator’ tournament at Littledown. Their teamwork was excellent and resulted in some extremely attractive football. Mr Pettefer was impressed with how the pupils organised themselves, including tactics and substitutions, having learned from the guidance he had previously provided. Although ultimately the team did not qualify for the final, they won one game, drew two and lost one. The leagues begins soon and this was a great reintroduction to competitive sport for the team.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Queen’s Park Academy Association AGM will now be held next Monday, 8th October. This parent and teacher group supports the school immensely and has enabled developments to resources and facilities that would not have been possible without its amazing work.
This year we are looking to expand the group and warmly welcome new members to join. We are able to facilitate childcare for next Monday for the duration of the meeting.
