Life Education

We have had the pleasure of welcoming the Life Education team this week. The children responded brilliantly to these sessions, engaging in the activities provided and discussing key themes thoughtfully. Year 3 ‘met the brain’, Year 4’s theme was ‘It’s Great To Be Me’, Year 5’s sessions centred around friendship and Year 6’s topic was ‘Decisions’.

Heads and Deputies

Congratulations to our new Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy. This year’s selection process required the children to write a letter of interest in the positions, before attending a short interview with Mrs Williams and Mrs Taylor. Everyone who applied for the roles should be extremely proud of themselves; it was incredibly hard to pick from the range of amazing applicants putting themselves forward.

Remembrance Garden

Our remembrance garden was officially opened this week. This garden is not only to remember the fallen from conflicts but also to provide a quiet area for reflection and respect for those who have experienced personal losses.

Year 4 had a wonderful wow day about potions today. They explored many different concoctions and even made their own slime. Many thanks to Mrs Southgate, today known as Cap’n Southgate, for all her hard work to enable this great experience.

World War One Day

Today’s timetable in all classes centred about learning about World War One. Pupils in different years discovered a variety of  information, such as how war broke out and stories of specific individuals and events. The children also created a wide variety of poppy themed art.

Mr Moore has created a memorial garden onsite. This will serve not only as a memorial for remembrance but also as a place for quiet reflection for the pupils.
