House Assemblies

Today our Windsor House Captains held an assembly for their house. Although the theme of working together and of how to demonstrate character was provided, the pupils prepared their own activities and content. Their delivery was excellent and they demonstrated courage and discernment throughout.

Science

There have been a lot of science experiments taking place this week. Year 3 are finding out what happens to flowers and plants when placed into coloured water whilst Year 5 have dissected tulips. In Year 6, the children have taken apart owl pellets in order to investigate the diet of owls. Great hands on learning!

Parliamentary handout

Our pupils will receive a parliamentary guide this week. This booklet answers questions such as ‘What is the UK parliament?’, ‘What happens at an election?’ and ‘Why do we need laws?’, as well as providing a wealth of information about the democratic process.

One homework this week will centre around the information and activities within the booklet. We also have a special parliamentary visitor leading assembly next Tuesday on the subject of government.

Savage Stoneage in 3JD

All of us at 3JD are learning about the Stoneage this week as part of our ‘Tribal Tales’ topic. We are looking forward to learning about Stonage this half-term. We have already discovered that they had tools and weapons made from stone and also invented fire! We hope this topic is as exciting as our last topic called ‘Scrumdiddlyumptious’
