It has been lovely to walk around the school this week, to see all of the displays in our corridors being changed. These displays show some very high-quality examples of writing. Here is a picture of one of the display boards in the Year 4 corridor so everybody at home can see your wonderful work.
A huge well done to Eve in 5N who entered and won a Waterwise competition during their Water Saving Week. Not only has she produced a wonderful poster explaining how to save water but she has also won a water butt for Queen’s Park Academy, £250 and a £30 book token! Well done Eve, a fantastic achievement!
Wow! Look at this amazing biome made from Gabriel. Can you work out what biome this is? Can you think of any other biomes on our planet?
Well done to Connor in 4S and his sister. They have been busy creating their own volcano, complete with a volcanic eruption!
Ahead of the trip to the River Stour, the children in Year 3 have been learning about the water cycle. They even created their own water cycles in action!
Year 3 had their WOW day for their ‘Flow’ topic. They completed four activities:
- Waterwise – a special guest worked with us to gain a better understanding about the water that we use.
- Painting – we created water paintings having been inspired by Claude Monet’s work.
- Science – we tested the ph levels of water from different sources.
- Music – we made water themed pieces using a range of instruments.
Year 5 held their ‘WOW!’ day today. As well as creating some ‘Day of the Dead’ inspired artwork, the children sampled some food from a Mexican banquet and had a ‘Mathsico!’ interactive performance from a special visitor!
