Hooke Court Residential 2021

90 Year 4 children woke up this morning bright eyed after a brilliant first night of their residential trip. Today, the children have had a fun packed and educational day that included taking part in a Greek battle! Luckily, the battle ended with smiles on everyone’s faces and the children thrilled that they had experienced the excitement of battle.

The children have also enjoyed getting their hands dirty whilst making a Greek goblet. We have some keen potters in the year group!

Today, they have also learned about the Greek alphabet and tried to write their own names in Greek. It took a lot of concentration to use a quill and ink pot.

It is lovely to see them all having such an amazing time and we will share any more photos that we get from the staff with you all tomorrow.

Hooke Court

The Year 5 children arrived safely at Hooke Court yesterday and have been having a brilliant time. They have had a very muddy experience in WW1 trenches and enjoyed singing some songs from that era.

The Hooke Court staff have also commented on how well they have all eaten – the clearest plates of any school they have had!

All had a good nights sleep and are thoroughly enjoying the experience.

PGL

Just one more day left at PGL for the Year 6s! They have been having a magnificent time in the splendid weather, taking part in a huge range of activities: kayaking, rifle shooting, archery, fencing, zip lines, climbing…

Year 4 had a super residential this week to Carey Camp. They took part in a wide variety of activities, including shelter building, ropes courses, archery, orienteering and tunnelling. They also learned how to sleep and eat outside! Many thanks to the staff for their positivity and dedication throughout the trip and to all of our pupils for their adaptability, optimism, inter-dependence and courage.
