Many thanks to Ms Drew for coming and talking to our School Council today about standing as a candidate for a local constituency. It was really interesting for the children to link their own election to office at QPA to national elections. Our children put themselves forwards for their positions to make a positive change and it is no different for the many candidates for office across the country, regardless of political persuasion.
Yesterday’s toy swap raised over £330 for the Save the Children Fund. Many thanks to all who contributed but especially to our School Council and Miss Sheard who organised the event.
Many thanks for the many donations that we have received for our charity toy swap. This event was was organised by the school council to raise money for the ‘Save the Children’ charity.
The toy shop will be visited by the children over the course of tomorrow. Each toy can be bought for £1 and all proceeds will go straight to the Save The Children charity.
We welcome further toy donations tomorrow morning!
This week we are supporting World Homeless Day in partnership with Bournemouth YMCA. Our school council agreed to support the event and decided to hold a mufti day this Friday, 12th October, in return for a £1 donation. There will also be a cake sale with cakes selling for 50p. All donations will be passed onto the YMCA who had great success last year in supporting homeless people within our area.
The School Council conducted themselves in a very professional manner whilst visiting Town Hall and the Mayor. The children asked interesting questions and showed a great deal of interest in the role of the Mayor.
Many thanks to everyone for their support towards our fund raising for Sport Relief today. The children are looking suitably red and sporty and we have raised a lot of money towards this worthy cause.
We are supporting Children In Need today by selling Pudsey themed biscuits and donating £1 to wear mufti. The biscuits were made by the School Council in the cookery suite. Many thanks to Miss Sheard for her organisation of the event and to Mrs Powell for her cookery support!
