This week we are supporting World Homeless Day in partnership with Bournemouth YMCA. Our school council agreed to support the event and decided to hold a mufti day this Friday, 12th October, in return for a £1 donation. There will also be a cake sale with cakes selling for 50p. All donations will be passed onto the YMCA who had great success last year in supporting homeless people within our area.
The School Council conducted themselves in a very professional manner whilst visiting Town Hall and the Mayor. The children asked interesting questions and showed a great deal of interest in the role of the Mayor.
Many thanks to everyone for their support towards our fund raising for Sport Relief today. The children are looking suitably red and sporty and we have raised a lot of money towards this worthy cause.
We are supporting Children In Need today by selling Pudsey themed biscuits and donating £1 to wear mufti. The biscuits were made by the School Council in the cookery suite. Many thanks to Miss Sheard for her organisation of the event and to Mrs Powell for her cookery support!
School council are thrilled to have raised nearly £300 for local charity ‘Mosaic’ from the Crazy Sock Day that they organised.
We have now made sure that everyone knows who the school councillors are from every class! Democracy in action!
QPA have been invited to take part in a Christmas card competition set by Mosiac (the recent charity we supported). Your child will have a sock template if they would like to take part and we would like all entries to be in school by 9am on Tuesday 17th October so we can send them off on Wednesday. On the back of the entry, please include your name, age and school.
We look forward to seeing all of your brilliant entires.
