The Year 5 children arrived safely at Hooke Court yesterday and have been having a brilliant time. They have had a very muddy experience in WW1 trenches and enjoyed singing some songs from that era.
The Hooke Court staff have also commented on how well they have all eaten – the clearest plates of any school they have had!
All had a good nights sleep and are thoroughly enjoying the experience.
Year 3 had their WOW day for their ‘Flow’ topic. They completed four activities:
- Waterwise – a special guest worked with us to gain a better understanding about the water that we use.
- Painting – we created water paintings having been inspired by Claude Monet’s work.
- Science – we tested the ph levels of water from different sources.
- Music – we made water themed pieces using a range of instruments.
Year 4 stepped into Ancient Greece today during their ‘Wow’ day. They learned about many different areas of the civilisation and took part in a final play using the content covered.
Year 5 held their ‘WOW!’ day today. As well as creating some ‘Day of the Dead’ inspired artwork, the children sampled some food from a Mexican banquet and had a ‘Mathsico!’ interactive performance from a special visitor!
