Year 4 began their ‘Traders and Raiders’ topic today with a Viking visit. There has been an amazing range of outfits on show this morning across the year group, including some pretty intimidating looking teachers!
Year 6 began their topic about the future with a Dragon’s Den inspired WOW day yesterday. The children were put into small groups and set the challenge of inventing and marketing a new product that would make a teacher’s life easier. They then had to pitch their idea to ‘The Dragons’. The winning group designed an app that would scan writing and identify spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors. Yes please!
The Year 4 WOW day for the ‘Gods and Mortals’ topic went very well on Monday with the children being immersed into the world of the Ancient Greeks. Some amazing costumes were on show, both from the adults and the children!
Year 5 held their WOW day today for their ‘Hola Mexico!’ topic. As well as a Latin American inspired ‘Mathsico’ session, the pupils created their own decorative skull, in keeping with the ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations, and sampled a range of Mexican food. Many thanks to Mrs Powell for her hard work in preparing the feast of enchiladas, tortillas, salsa, guacamole and churros.
Today’s Year 3 WOW day went extremely well. The pupils learned a lot about life in Celtic and Roman Britain, culminating in the re-enactment of a story from the period. We had an impressive range of costumes and outfits on show. One even contained the Latin translation of ‘High Expectations Lead to High Achievers’!
The Year 3 team are ready for their WOW day!
Year 5 had their WOW day today building marble loop the loops as an introduction to their ‘Scream Machine’ topic. Mission accomplished for this group!
